About

Tom and Jean Cox moved to Monteverde, Costa Rica, from Pittsburgh in 2021. Tom has more than 30 years of church leadership experience in the United States. WE BELIEVE that the crucial leadership potential of local faith communities can make a difference to bring healing to creation. Esfera Faith is passionate about these local collections of faithful souls who desire to make a difference in the climate crisis but are unsure of what to do next.

WE BELIEVE that both people and the planet are connected to God´s Spirit and thus to each other. For some, that connection needs to be reestablished and strengthened.

WE BELIEVE that one doesn´t need to be a scientist to make a difference in the climate crisis and that one doesn´t have to be a saint or theologian to experience God´s Spirit in nature.

WE BELIEVE the effects of climate change will disproportionately impact marginalized communities and are dedicated to creating a sustainable future for all people.

WE BELIEVE in facing hard truths with faith, courage, and optimism.

WE BELIEVE that our micro actions make macro differences possible.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

We encourage local faith communities to engage in climate efforts by explaining complex climate information in spiritual friendly, inclusive, simple, and optimistic ways.

We provide a platform for local faith communities to share and celebrate their efforts so that others might be inspired and encouraged to do the same.

We want to foster a community in which, together, we can cut through the doom and gloom by magnifying the Good News stories of people of faith working to create a sustainable future for future generations.

WHAT WE DO
