Climate Change Explained

The Science portion of this site is here to provide basic climate education for those who are in the beginning stages of climate work. This video is by the UN and is a couple of years old. It’s pretty solid despite its mention of recycling as something to do for the planet. Plus, it has a great shout-out to Costa Rica. Pura vida!

As I stated in my last post, there are many great reasons to reduce your personal carbon emissions but none of them will make a dent in the planet’s emissions. Reducing those demands systemic, political, and societal change. But there are things we can do to bring this about. Consider this checklist of activities. It is from a social media account under the name of Earthly Education. How many of these have you or your faith community engaged in?

By all means, reduce your personal carbon footprint (#5). But also work with others for societal change (#1-4). This is the work that will make a difference.
